In keeping with Vilamoura’s heritage the design of the resort is influenced by Moorish accents and amid the five hectares of landscaped grounds there are cascading waterfalls, hanging gardens, grottos, lakes and pavilions. There are six heated outdoor swimming pools and a fitness centre. The resort spa is the largest in Portugal, and the hotel also offers a 3,000 square-metre kids club with playground, clubhouse, video library and organized activities. Getting there: Taxis are available from outside the airport terminal; typical fares are €25-30 to Vilamoura. Alternatively, an airport transfer can be pre-arranged with the hotel (surcharge). All prices subject to change.
Driving directions: From the airport follow signs for Lisoba/Portimao/Loule for three kilometres. Turn right and follow directions for Portimao/Loule. Follow N125 for Almancil/Quarteira, take N 396 for Vilamoura to Pinhal Golf Course. The hotel is just in front of it.
Getting around: The Algarve region benefits from an extensive road network and is best explored by car. Privately run buses offer an extensive service connecting many of the resorts. Lisbon and the Algarve are also linked by the Alfa Pendular rail services.
